  • Exploration and practice of “Four-Early and Three-Entry” education model for clinical medical undergraduates

    Modern medical education faces multiple challenges, and there is a gap between the social needs and the methods of cultivating medical talents. The current undergraduate education in clinical medicine is subject centered, and the traditional model is difficult to cultivate students’ clinical abilities, practical skills, and research thinking effectively. Therefore, West China Hospital/West China School of Medicine of Sichuan University has proposed a new education model of “Four-Early and Three-Entry”, aiming to cultivate students’ professional ethics, clinical abilities, and scientific research innovation abilities through early clinical practice, scientific research participation, and social integration. This article will introduce the practice and preliminary results of the “Four-Early and Three-Entry” model, aiming to provide effective ways to improve the quality of medical undergraduate education and cultivate more comprehensive medical professionals.

  • The application of Bayesian quantile regression in analysis of clinical medicine data and the R Studio practice

    ObjectiveTo combine specific examples and R Studio language code, to apply the Bayesian quantile regression method in the analysis of clinical medicine data, and show the advantages of Bayesian quantile regression method, so as to provide references for improving the accuracy of medical research. Methods The clinical data of 250 patients with knee osteoarthritis from the capital special research on the application of clinical characteristics project were used. A Bayesian quantile regression model based on data set was constructed to explore the relationship between the level of serum IgG and the age of the patients. Results The Monte Carlo algorithm converge can judge the efficiency of parameter estimation based on Gibbs sampling which was used to draw samples from the posterior distribution of parameters in Bayesian quantile regression. By generating the parameter into the regression formula, we can obtain the regression under different quantiles: Y1=−6.022 063 47+2.026 913 73X−0.015 077 69X2……Y5=24.610 542 414−0.395 059 497X+0.004 205 064X2. It can be found that the serum level of IgG was obviously increased with age. Conclusion Bayesian quantile regression parameter estimation results are accurate and highly credible, and reliable parameter information can be obtained even under small sample conditions. It has great advantages in the research of clinical medicine data and has certain promotional value.

    In order to improve the management of medical technology and ensure the safety, efficiency, and economy of medical devices, we introduce the current situation and future of clinical medical engineering technology evaluation from eight aspects: evaluation standard, evaluation of technical performance, evaluation of reliability, evaluation of clinical application, evaluation of health economy, evaluation of service system, technology maturity, and human factor engineering. The evaluation of clinical medical engineering technology is still in the initial stage, and it is necessary to speed up the establishment of standardization system and evaluation criterion for all kinds of equipment evaluation.

  • 基于AI实时翻译技术的融合课堂在癫痫临床教学实践中的应用

    目前,全英文授课临床医学专业(Bachelor of medicine & bachelor of surgery,MBBS)留学生的招生规模日益增加,对其在华临床教学实践提出了新的要求。癫痫作为神经病学教学的重点内容,其规范性诊治对采集病史的准确性具有极强的依赖性,极需对MBBS在癫痫的临床教学实践进行进一步优化。本研究创新性地结合人工智能(Artificial Intelligence,AI)实时翻译技术及融合课堂,将MBBS留学生与中国医学生同步授课,纳入单中心三甲医院神经内科临床实习的中国医学生及MBBS留学生67名进行问卷调查,横断面地评估融合课堂的必要性、融合课堂应该占有实习课堂教学总时长的比例、AI实时翻译设备在实践课堂应用的必要性、学生对AI实时翻译设备期待。经IBM SPSS 26 软件包统计,MBBS留学生及中国医学生观点基本一致,无统计学差异(P>0.05)。约49.3%~61.2%的学生认可留学生在癫痫临床教学实践中参加融合课堂的必要性,47.8%~59.7%的学生认可中国医学生在癫痫临床教学实践中参加融合课堂的必要性,76.1%的学生认可在癫痫临床教学实践的融合课堂上使用翻译设备的必要性,65.7%的学生对在癫痫临床教学实践的融合课堂上使用翻译设备抱有期待。这提示我们在新时代5G网络飞速发展的背景下,基于AI实时翻译技术的融合课堂可能在癫痫临床教学实践中具有重大的应用潜力,并可推广至其它神经病学及医学学科的临床教学实践当中。

  • China-UK Cooperation to Promote Dynasty Plan for Establishing International Clinical Medicine Base

      当前国际形势的变化及中国经济社会的发展为生物医药产业提供了难得的历史机遇,抓住这个历史机遇,实现国内与国际、产业与市场的两个有效对接,是推动我国生物医药产业发展的关键和有效手段。为了探索国内与国际对接的有效方式,我们发起“王朝计划”,并于今年6月17日在深圳第五届中国生物产业大会上,由卫生部医药卫生科技发展研究中心与英国MRCT、武汉光谷生物产业基地及上海新生源集团公司分别签订了共同推进“王朝计划”和共建“卫生部科技中心国际临床医学基地”的战略合作协议。    “王朝计划”的核心思想是将英国领先的医药研发能力与中国巨大的市场需求相对接,实现技术和项目的双向转移。“王朝计划”有3个重要特点:① 民间发起的国际合作计划,而非政府间合作计划;② 商业合作计划,而非单纯的科技合作计划;③ 开放的合作计划,是集成技术、成果、人才、资本各种资源的计划。   为了探索产业与市场对接的有效方式,我们启动了“卫生部科技中心国际临床医学基地”的建设工作。其宗旨是利用科技手段,努力解决长期存在的产业与临床应用两张皮的问题;加快和规范生物医药技术和产品的市场推广;实现医疗技术水平和生物医药产业相互促进,共同发展。其建设思路紧紧围绕1个重点,针对2个需求,开展3项业务,实现4个目标。围绕1个重点:重点开展上市后医药技术和产品的临床研究,而不是主要承担以上市申报为目的的临床试验。与通常的CRO不同,我们的主要产出是临床研究的科研成果,而不是临床试验的申报资料。针对2个需求:① 已上市的产品或技术对开拓市场的需求;② 广大医务工作者开展科学研究,提高医疗水平的需求。开展3项业务:① 吸纳多方投入,建立临床科研基金,组织开展临床科研项目,探索既实现科研投入多元化,又确保具体的科研活动不受商业利益牵制的有效机制;② 建立针对不同疾病或症候群的临床研究数据库,实现医学知识的系统积累,产出更多的高水平科研成果,推动流行病学、循证医学和转化医学的发展;③ 将卫生技术评估体系与产业对接,完善我国医药技术和成果的评价体系,提高医药企业的技术决策能力。实现4个目标:① 做强优势技术、成果和企业;② 推动临床科技进步和技术水平提升;③ 催生新的服务产业模式;④ 是完善园区的技术孵化和产业促进体系,增强园区的招商引资能力。  “国际临床医学基地”将由卫生部科技发展中心与武汉光谷生物基地共建,在湖北省卫生厅等有关方面的支持下,实行理事会领导下的主任负责制,依托由园区直属国有企业与其他企业合资设立的专门公司进行具体运作。卫生部科技中心主要负责整体设计、宏观决策、政策支持和监督把关,不参与实体公司的股份和单纯市场运作。“王朝计划”和“国际临床医学基地”既密切相关,相互促进,又各有独立的业务发展方向。这两项事业都是全新的探索,要走的路还很长,还有许多困惑和挑战,都需要政府、企业、临床医疗机构和投资机构等多方面的大力支持。为了生物技术能向信息技术那样,真正实现全方位、大规模的产业化,真正全面改变我们的世界和生活,让我们共同努力! 收稿日期:2011–12–06 本文编辑:杜亮

  • Investigation and research on the willingness and influencing factors of clinical medicine graduate students to study abroad

    ObjectiveTo investigate the willingness and influencing factors of clinical medicine graduate students to study abroad.MethodsFrom September 2019 to January 2020, a survey was conducted among the clinical medicine graduate students in West China School of Medicine, Sichuan University. An anonymous self-report questionnaire was used to investigate their willingness to study abroad, and the related influencing factors were analyzed.ResultsA total of 600 questionnaires were distributed, in which 518 valid questionnaires were collected. Among the 518 graduate students, 96.14% anticipated to study abroad, and 93.05% expected to subsidize the study abroad through the state-sponsored study abroad fund. The major obstacle for studying abroad for joint training was concerning the negative effects on domestic clinical work or scientific research work, resulting in failure to graduate; meanwhile, difficulty in applying was the primary obstacle for studying abroad for a doctorate.ConclusionsThere is a strong willingness for clinical medicine graduate students to study abroad. However, it is affected by graduation time and application.

  • Investigation on the Current Status of Learning Goals and Expectation of Employment of 164 New Clinical Medical Postgraduate Students

    Objective?To investigate the current status of new clinical medical postgraduate students on their learning goals and expectation of employment, and to provide the evidence and suggestions for improving the management of medical postgraduates’ training. Methods?We designed the questionnaire to investigate the current status of learning goals and expectation of employment of new clinical medical postgraduate students of Lanzhou University. We issued 164 questionnaires and took back 164 ones, among which 157 were effective, with the effective rate of 95.7%. Results?(1) The proportion of the postgraduates with working experience was less than 50%, and most of these worked in the municipal and county hospitals. (2) The 78.3% of them considered that clinical and research abilities were of the same importance. (3) The 65.6% of them expected to get Medical Science Degree; (4) The 96.8% of them wanted, after graduation, to engage in clinical work or the work in which clinical affairs and research were equally important, and only 3.2% hoped to engage in research-oriented work; (5) Although clinical skills and research capabilities of the first-year medical postgraduates were very poor at their entrance to the graduate school, their expectations of employment were very high. Conclusion?(1) The improvement and innovation of medical postgraduates’ clinical and research training are urgently needed. (2) The publicity and supporting policies should be enhanced for Clinical Medicine Degrees, and the postgraduates should be guided to comply their own expectations with social needs properly.

  • Youth Volunteers of West China Medical School/ West China Hospital of Sichuan University after the Wenchuan Earthquake

    After Wenchuan earthquake on May 12, West China Medical School/ West China Hospital of Sichuan University organized a youth volunteer team for earthquake rescue and relief. A volunteer network was formed and relevant service regulations were formulated immediately. Volunteers have played an important role in post-earthquake evacuation of patients, emergency reception, ward care, on-call service, a service to help people find family members, telecommunications and some other major tasks.

    【摘要】 目的 对目前“临床医学概要”的教学方法进行改进。 方法 从提高教师自身素质、优化课程内容、合理应用多媒体教学、改进教学方法和手段、调动学生的学习主动性和积极性、加强沟通和改变考核方式等七个方面入手,对如何改善“临床医学概要”的教学状况进行了探讨。 结果 改进后的教学方法在“临床医学概要”的教学中效果甚佳,很好地实现了本课程的教学目的,且做到了教学相长。 结论 该教学方法的改进在“临床医学概要”的教学中切实可行,收效甚佳,值得推广。

  • Exploration and practice of “five early” model for professional master’s degree graduate student in clinical medicine

    As one of the first batch of pilot universities for the education reform of clinical medicine master program, Sichuan university has conducted in-depth research on the training models in medical schools from home and abroad since 2013. Relying on the platform of medical education collaboration, we have explored and gradually formed the “five early” education model for clinical medicine master program. This article summarizes the practical experience of “five early” education model from six dimensions, namely, PDCA management system, rules and regulations, platform support, database construction, case database construction and international exchange. In addition,, the achievements in the training of medical talents with comprehensive qualities are presented from the aspects of clinical skills, scientific research achievements, international exchanges and frontier innovation, The goal is to provide effective experience for clinical medical personnel training.
