ObjectiveTo understand the possible influential factors and the effectiveness of interventions for quality of life in breast cancer survivors. MethodThe latest literatures about studies on quality of life in breast cancer survivors were reviewed. ResultsAlthough the cure rate and survival rate of patients with breast cancer had improved, breast cancer as a major stress event, the disease itself and treatment related adverse reactions might cause the fatigue, activity decline, anxiety, depression, and other negative emotions of patients, which seriously affected the quality of life of patients and survival prognosis. The patients’ age, socio-economic background, tumor characteristics, and treatment methods were the factors affecting their quality of life. To a certain extent, meditation, music therapy, and proper physical exercise could improve the quality of life of patients with breast cancer. ConclusionBreast cancer itself and related treatment methods may affect not only the affected organs, but also multiple dimensions of patients’ quality of life, so attention should be paid to improve quality of life in breast cancer survivors, providing with individualized interventions.

ObjectiveTo investigate the influence of evidence-based nursing intervention on the treatment effect and quality of life in patients with peritoneal dialysis. MethodSixty-four patients who underwent peritoneal dialysis between January 2013 and December 2014 in our hospital were randomly divided into control group (n=32) and intervention group (n=32) . The control group received routine nursing and the intervention group received evidencebased nursing intervention. Urea clearance index (KT/V), serum albumin and hemoglobin levels were detected for both groups of patients before and after nursing intervention. Generic Quality of Life Inventory (GQOLI)-74 scale was used to assess patients' quality of life. ResultsAfter nursing intervention, KT/V, serum albumin and hemoglobin levels in the intervention group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05) . The scores of such items as physical function, psychological function, social function and overall evaluation in the GQOLI-74 scale in the intervention group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05) . ConclusionsEvidence-based nursing intervention can effectively improve the treatment effect and quality of life in patients with peritoneal dialysis, which is worthy of clinical popularization and application.
ObjectiveTo more comprehensive understanding the survival situation of donors after liver transplantation, which can be applied to clinical diagnosis and treatment. MethodsThe related literatures in recent years of living donor liver transplantation (LDLT) postoperative complications, quality of life, and liver regeneration were reviewed, and the donors postoperative survival situation were investigated. ResultsLDLT has become an option, It is safe and feasible for healthy adults to donate partial liver for LDLT. ConclusionsDonor postoperative survival situation is very important, and it affect the development of LDLT.To improve donors postoperative survival situation, we still need more efforts.
Objective To investigate the quality of life (QOL) of Beichuan cadres 1 year after Wenchuan earthquake, so as to provide references for promoting psychological intervention and improving QOL. Methods With the adoption of WHOQOL-BREF, questionnaire survey on basic conditions of cadre victims, and PCL-C scale, cross-section survey was conducted for 2 055 cadres of Beichuan public institutions in aspects of their QOL, social demographic characteristics and psychological trauma. Results a) Compared with domestic norm, although the Beichuan cadres had higher score in social relation domain (14.31 ± 2.59, Plt;0.01), their QOL scores in each dimensions (physical domain score: 14.16 ± 2.43; psychological domain score: 13.79 ± 2.59, environmental domain score: 11.20 ± 2.74) were lower with significant difference (Plt;0.01); b) The group with population under the age of 30 scored higher than other age groups in the psychological and environmental domains; men scored higher than women in the psychological domain; the widowed group scored lower than other groups in all domains; the Han nationality group scored higher than the Qiang nationality group in all domains; the primary education group scored lower than other groups in the social relation domain; the group with relatives, houses and physical loss or damage scored lower than the non-loss group in all domains; and the higher the score in PCL-C, the lower the scores in all domains (all Plt;0.05). Conclusion Beichuan cadres are severely affected in their physical, psychological and environmental domains even one year after Wenchuan earthquake, especially the female, the Qiang nationality, the old, the lost, and the psychological injured cadres are more badly affected with worse QOL, so those population should be concerned in particular with sustainable psychological service and other measures. The finding of social relation domain score being higher than general population suggests that it is important to promote the satisfaction with social relation through the timely effective support from both government and civil society, and the resettlement of sample housing area as well.
ObjectiveTo investigate the quality of life (QOL) and its influencing factors of patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) positive breast cancer returning to social life after treatment.MethodsFunctional assessment of cancer therapy-breast scale (FACT-B Scale) was adopted to investigate the QOL of the HER2 positive breast cancer survivors, who were admitted and treated during January 2015 and October 2019 in Fujian Provincial Hospital. The demographic, social and economic data, as well as the clinical information of the responded survivors were collected. Logistic regression model was adopted to analyze factors associated with the QOL of the responded survivors.ResultsA total of 117 responded survivors were included. The median of the FACT-B scale was 106.0 (91.0, 121.3) points out of 148 points (71.6%). With the control of the demographic, social and economic status of the responded survivors, as well as the time from diagnosis and treatment to responding to the follow-up, we found that "having other chronic conditions" was the risk factor for the HER2 positive breast cancer survivors to have higher QOL in the social life after treatment (OR=4.17, 95%CI 1.33 to 15.37, P=0.01).ConclusionsThe overall QOL of the HER2 positive breast cancer survivors in the social life after treatment was low. "Having other chronic conditions" was the risk factor for the HER2 positive breast cancer survivors to have higher QOL in the social life after treatment.
Objective To study the effectiveness, safety and tolerance of testosterone undecanoate (TU) in improving exhaustion and quality of life (QOL) of the elderly male patients with chronic disease in advanced stage. Methods Using a simple randomized controlled trial design, eighty patients were randomized into two groups. The treatment group took routine therapy and TU and the control group with routine therapy alone. Results 1. Baseline characteristics in both groups were similar. 2. The PADAM grade decreased, and the QOL scale increased in the treatment group (P〈0.05 ). 3. Serum total testosterone in the treatment group rose, upper arm circumference and right hand grip improved (P〈0.05 ). 4. There were no significant differences in adverse effects between both groups. Conclusions TU can improve the clinical health status in the elderly male patients with chronic disease in advanced stage and increase serum testosterone level, there is a satisfactory tolerances and few adverse reactions.
