ObjectiveTo construct the terminology standard of hospital quality and safety. MethodsThe draft terminology standard was constructed through group discussions, and the final draft terminology standard was formed after one round of Delphi expert consultation and two rounds of expert consensus meetings. ResultsThe recovery rate of the questionnaire was 100%, and the authority coefficient of experts was 0.87. A total of 15 experts were invited to two rounds of expert consensus meetings. The terminology standard for hospital quality and safety (TCHAS 10-1-1-4—2022) was finally released, including 4 first-level categories, 20 second-level categories, and 370 terms in total. ConclusionThe terminology standard of hospital quality and safety developed in this study is scientific and reliable, which can be used as a tool to assist medical institutions in carrying out standardized management.
The advanced management is the foundation of the long-term development of hospital. How to break the barriers between institutions, explore and set up formal management system and operating mechanism is a headache faced by many public hospitals. By bringing in Project Management (PM) theory to establish up the management reform will be a smart way. Counterproductive work behavior (CWB) is an employee’s spontaneous behavior that is potentially threatening to the interests of the organization itself or members of the organization. It is very common in organizations and is extremely harmful. The CWB of medical staff is extremely risky and can cause many adverse effects on the economy, society and patient health. Through reading and analyzing literature, the review discusses the concept, measurement, influencing factors and behavioral consequences of the medical staff CWB, and proposes coping strategies for improvement from the social, hospital, and individual levels. The aim is to provide a reference for reducing the CWB of medical staff and to improve medical quality and safety.
With the increasing demand for health technology decision making in hospitals, the activities of hospital-based health technology assessment are increasing globally. Several developed countries, such as France, Finland, Denmark, Italy, Canada, The United State and Australia have carried out hospital-based health technology assessment activities. In order to further promote the development of health technology assessment in China and establish evidence-based management and decision-making concept of hospitals, the National Center for Medical Service Administration has carried out theoretical and practical research on hospital technology assessment by fully drawing on foreign advanced experience. This paper introduces the background, object, method and content of the research, the achievements of the pilot project and the prospect of the future, so as to provide a reference for readers to understand the overall situation of the project and related work.
Assembling medical aid teams (MATs) from the provinces outside Hubei was an important China-specific approach to dealing with public health emergencies during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic in Hubei. In integrally taking over the COVID-19 intensive care wards in Wuhan, the Joint 7th and 8th Sichuan COVID-19 MATs applied the methods of modern hospital management to complete the medical task, concerning four key points as guidance by the Communist Party of China, system and regulation establishment, organization construction, and discipline persistence. This paper makes a theoretical summary on the basic management of the Joint 7th and 8th Sichuan COVID-19 MATs, and it is hoped that more COVID-19 MATs could summarize and share their successful management experiences in order to enrich and improve the management theory of MAT.
Objectives To evaluate the research status of hospital management in foreign countries using bibliometric analysis, in order to provide reference for domestic hospital management. Methods The Scopus and Web of Science databases were searched for hospital management related studies from inception to May 30th, 2017. The publication date, document type, country, affiliation, publication distribution, citation, and co-authorship of included studies were analyzed. Results During the past 20 years, the amount of hospital management related studies presented an increased trend, and original article was the major article type. The USA, UK, Germany, France, Japan, Australia, Austria, Italy, Spain and Canada were ranked as the top ten countries that had published the most related studies. Moreover, most of the affiliations which published the related studies were from the USA, UK and France. The results of co-authorship analysis indicated that some researchers existed close co-authorships. Conclusions Developed countries have better researches on hospital management and can provide a good reference for domestic researchers.
Patient priority evaluation has been studied and applied abroad for a long time, which is a mature theory and widely used in practice now. This article uses the priority, patients, waiting list and criteria as keywords to search Wiley Inter Science, Web of Science, Scopus Pub Med, The Cochrane Library, Science Direct, Springer, and Jstor database (searching time is up to December 2017), to collect relevant indicators for patient admission priority evaluation. In addition, relevant citations and grey literature were searched, and experts from relevant fields in China were consulted to obtain more comprehensive research literature. On this basis, this article describes the concept of patient admission priority evaluation, and describes the meanings of the indicators and the countries of application from the three dimensions of clinical indicators, expected results, and social factors. It is considered that the research and implementation of the evaluation of the priority of patient admission has been relatively many. However, there are only a few related researches in the country and without unity. There is no systematic patient-related priority evaluation. It is necessary to use foreign mature theory research to establish a hospital admission priority evaluation system suitable for China’s national conditions.
Objective To compare and analyze hospital operation and management models between China and foreign countries, in order to provide reference and guidance for the continuous improvement of hospital management in China. Methods The NVivo software was used to conduct a qualitative comparative analysis of domestic and foreign literature on hospital operation and management models in China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang, Web of Science, and PubMed until December 2022, and a model for the differences in operation and management between Chinese and foreign hospitals was further constructed. Results Finally, 33 Chinese literature and 21 English literature were selected as the raw materials for NVivo qualitative analysis.
